By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service is warning residents to remain vigilant as moist and unstable conditions persist across the country, bringing cloudy skies, showers, and isolated thunderstorms.
According to today’s 24-hour forecast, central and northern areas will experience most of the rainfall activity during the day, while showers shift toward the southern regions tonight. The marine forecast indicates choppy seas with waves between 3 to 4 feet, accompanied by east-northeast winds at 5 to 15 knots.
Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 93°F inland, 88°F along the coast, and 82°F in the hills, with cooler nighttime lows.
Officials have placed the country under an Excessive Rainfall Watch, warning that an upper-level trough may bring between 3 to 4 inches of rain over the next 24 to 36 hours. Residents in flood-prone communities are urged to monitor official updates closely and prepare for possible flooding.
For the weekend, the outlook remains unsettled, with cloudy spells and showers expected over most areas on Saturday and Saturday night.
The public is encouraged to stay tuned for further advisories from the National Hydrological Service and exercise caution in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
