By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belizeans woke up to a wet and cloudy morning as the National Meteorological Service reports that moist and unstable conditions are driving widespread showers and thunderstorms across the country.

The rains are expected to affect the north and central regions most heavily this morning, before easing off by the afternoon. However, forecasters warn that showers will redevelop across much of the country tonight.

Marine conditions remain relatively calm with winds from the east at 10–20 knots, shifting northeast at 5–15 knots later today, and seas slight to light chop with waves between 1–4 feet.

Temperatures will remain on the cooler side: 85°F along the coast, 87°F inland, and 83°F in the hills.

Looking ahead, Friday’s outlook calls for cloudy spells with a few showers or isolated thunderstorms in the north and central areas during the morning, shifting south by nighttime.

No tropical cyclone formation is expected across the North Atlantic Basin in the next 48 hours.
