By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating an alleged drowning in western Belize.
On Thursday, August 21, about 4:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a drowning in a pond located on a farm at the outskirts of Valley of Peace Village. Upon arrival, they observed the motionless body of a male person who was identified as 13-year-old Jaden Emmanuel Marroquin, a Belizean student of Valley of Peace.
Initial investigations revealed that Jaden went to the nearby pond where he allegedly drowned. His body was retrieved from the pond and transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
