By Aaron Humes: A devastating motorcycle accident early this morning has left five children without their mother, following the death of 34-year-old Marilyn Roches. The incident occurred as Roches was riding as a passenger with 33-year-old Takudzwa Kaseke, who lost control of the motorcycle near Belmopan Comprehensive High School on the South Ring Road.
According to Dr Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police, the accident happened when Kaseke failed to maintain control, resulting in severe injuries for Roches that ultimately proved fatal. Further investigation into the accident is ongoing, with urine samples taken from Kaseke to ascertain whether alcohol was a factor. “[A] specimen was taken, and the matter is under investigation. I do believe that he was to issue with a notice of intended prosecution pending the outcome of the investigation,” Dr Rosado confirmed.
Roches left five children behind, the eldest of whom is eighteen years old. It was noted that she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
