By Rubén Morales Iglesias: With playoff tensions soaring, the Western Ballaz Basketball Club delivered a crucial win on Friday night in the , edging out the Belmopan Capital City Kings 81–74 in a pivotal Cayo District rivalry clash at the Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio in the Belize Premier Basketball League.
Fueled by a balanced offensive showing and unwavering home support, the Ballaz improved to 5–3, tightening their grip on fourth place and keeping pace with the third-place Belize City Thunderbolts (5–5). The Kings, now 3–7, slide deeper into trouble and face a must-win game on Saturday night to keep postseason hopes alive.
