By Zoila Palma: Today, the Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries, Kareem Musa, visited police officers stationed in the Eastern Division Coastal area as part of efforts to address welfare concerns and improve working conditions within the police department.
Musa, accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Sharole Carr, Police Commissioner Dr. Richard Rosado, and other senior officers, met with frontline personnel to reaffirm the ministry’s commitment to upgrading facilities and providing essential equipment.
“The work to improve facilities and enhance their work with equipment has started and will continue,” Musa told officers during the visit.
Minister Musa highlighted ongoing initiatives under the police wellness program, including a scheme for officers who have not yet acquired their first parcel of land.
He encouraged eligible officers to apply, stressing the importance of long-term stability for law enforcement staff.
Musa also underscored the role of the Lotus Center, a counseling and mental wellness facility dedicated to police officers, noting that the demanding nature of the job requires access to such support services.
