By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The CONCACAF Gold Cup continued on Tuesday, with Canada thrashing Honduras 6-0 while Curaçao and El Salvador played out a goalless draw.
At BC Place in Vancouver, Canada dismantled Honduras 6-0 in a commanding performance. The home side wasted no time, with their first goal coming early in the match. Niko Sigur opened the scoring in the 7th minute, followed by Tani Oluwaseyi in the 15th minute. Canada continued their relentless attack, with Jonathan David adding a third in the 32nd minute. The second half saw Cyle Larin strike in the 51st minute, while Alphonso Davies and Junior Hoilett rounded off the scoring in the 67th and 74th minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, Curaçao and El Salvador battled to a 0-0 draw. Despite both teams creating chances, neither could find the back of the net, leaving them to share the points.
Canada lead the group with their dominant performance, while Curaçao and El Salvador remain level after their draw. Honduras have ground to make up if they hope to advance.
