By Aaron Humes: A request to use the bathroom on Sunday night in Belize City was actually a pretext for an attempted robbery, according to police.
Around 8:35 p.m., Miguel Alpuche of Antelope Street was at home when a man who was not well-known to him called him by name and asked to use the restroom.
However, after they went inside, the man produced a knife and demanded money. They struggled, and Alpuche was cut several times, for which he is in stable condition in hospital, but the man fled without getting anything.
Police are seeking a person in connection with the incident.
