By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As the Belize Premier Basketball League (BPBL) heads into another weekend of action, the San Pedro Tiger Sharks continue to dominate with an undefeated record, while other teams fight to gain ground in the standings.
The Tiger Sharks stand alone at the top, boasting an impressive 4-0 record, making them the only unbeaten team this season. They’ve displayed their dominance at home (3-0) and maintained their winning streak on the road (1-0).
Chasing the leaders are the Cayo Western Ballaz and the Punta Gorda Panthers, both sitting at 2-1. The Ballaz have remained strong defensively, while the Panthers have been perfect at home with a 2-0 record.
Further down, the Belize City Thunderbolts have struggled recently, suffering three consecutive losses, dropping to 2-3. Meanwhile, the EZ Investments Dangriga Dream Ballers, Belmopan Capital City Kings, and Corozal Cerros Suns are locked in the bottom tier with just one win each, making this weekend crucial for their comeback hopes.
