By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize found themselves trailing just two minutes into their World Cup Qualifier against Montserrat after a costly defensive lapse allowed M. Rogers to capitalize on a loose ball inside the penalty area.

Following an early surge from Montserrat, a deflected cross caused confusion in Belize’s box, and Rogers wasted no time in firing the ball past goalkeeper Woodrow West to give his side a 1-0 lead. The BMNTs, stunned by the early setback, were forced to regroup quickly as they looked to find their rhythm and work their way back into the match.

Despite the early goal, Belize remained composed, pushing forward in search of an equalizer. Montserrat, energized by their fast start, pressed high, limiting Belize’s attacking opportunities in the opening minutes.

With plenty of time left in the match, Belize must now respond with urgency and precision to avoid falling further behind.
