By Zoila Palma: During cabinet’s session on May 20, 2025, cabinet approved the establishment of a Digital and IT Infrastructure Project Vetting Committee, a new body tasked with strengthening oversight of national digital initiatives.
The committee will be responsible for setting project standards, reviewing implementation processes, and identifying potential risks. Its goal is to ensure that all digital and IT infrastructure projects are aligned with national priorities and resource requirements.
This move is part of a broader effort to develop a cohesive national digital strategy, promoting efficiency, transparency, and long-term sustainability across Belize’s digital transformation agenda.
