Ministry of Education inaugurates new kitchen at San Isidro Government School in Toledo

By Zoila Palma:  Today, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Oscar Requena attended the inauguration of a brand-new school kitchen at San Isidro Government School in the Toledo District.

This initiative was made possible through a generous donation by Fyffes, under the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Ministry in 2022 to support school infrastructure and student nutrition.

The Ministry noted that San Isidro Government School is part of the National Healthy Start School Feeding Programme and the new kitchen will play a vital role in ensuring that students have access to nutritious meals that support their learning and overall well-being.

Minister Requena was joined by Dr. Osmond Martinez, Area Representative and Minister of State for Economic Transformation, and Chief Education Officer Yolanda Gongora, who all reiterated their commitment to improving education outcomes in rural communities.

The Ministry expressed gratitude to Fyffes for their continued partnership and investment in the future of Belize’s children.
