By Breaking Belize News Staff: An 18-year-old fisherman is on remand at the Belize Central Prison following a violent shooting incident over the weekend that left one man dead and two others injured. A fourth individual reportedly managed to escape unharmed.

Shenyon Levi Barrow, a resident of Peter Secco Street, was arraigned on Monday for the murder of 21-year-old Floyd McFadzean Jr. The fatal shooting occurred on Saturday, March 22, 2025, on Cemetery Road in Belize City. Barrow, who appeared unrepresented in Magistrate’s Court #5, was read a total of seven criminal charges, including one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous harm, and two counts of dangerous harm upon shooting victims Jaheim Bent and Troy Gentle.

Due to the severity of the charges, Barrow was denied bail and was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until May 25, 2025.

According to police reports, officers responded to a shooting at approximately 12:24 a.m. on March 21, 2025. Upon arrival at the corner of Johnson Street and Cemetery Road, they discovered a white Ford Fusion crashed into a drain, riddled with bullet holes. Inside the driver’s seat was McFadzean, dressed in black clothing and white Nike slippers, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further reports revealed that two other shooting victims, Deon Gladden, 20, and Troy Gentle, 21, were transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment. Gladden sustained two gunshot grazes, while Gentle suffered three gunshot wounds to his body.

Police investigations indicate that McFadzean was driving along Cemetery Road with Gladden and Gentle when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on their vehicle. The gunfire caused McFadzean to lose control, crashing into the drain near Constitution Park.

A fourth passenger, Jaheim Bent, 21, was also reportedly in the vehicle but managed to flee during the attack. Authorities later found Bent on Basra Street with a gunshot wound to the upper back.

The investigation is ongoing as police seek to determine the motive behind the attack and identify any additional suspects. Barrow remains in custody as authorities continue their inquiries into the deadly incident.
