By Aaron Humes: The National Evangelical Association of Belize (NEAB) this evening officially announced the appointment of Louis Maximo Wade Jr. as the new Church Senator. This decision comes as a collaborative effort between the NEAB, the Belize Council of Churches, and the Belize Association of Evangelical Churches, who have traditionally rotated the position since it was first established.
The announcement follows the March 12 elections that saw Prime Minister John Briceño and the People’s United Party claim victory, alongside the appointment of Tracy Taegar-Panton as the Leader of the Opposition. The NEAB expressed their gratitude and offered prayers for both the newly elected officials and their upcoming responsibilities.
As for Wade, perhaps better known as a broadcaster and talk show host for his station PLUS TV in Belmopan, the NEAB states he has garnered support from over 240 pastors across the nation. His extensive experience and commitment to serving the people of Belize position him well to fulfil his duties in the Senate with excellence and wisdom, according to the organization.
In its statement, the NEAB said, “We are confident that Louis Wade Jr. will discharge his duties in the Senate with excellence, wisdom, and significant contributions, as he has done throughout his entire career.”
NEAB President Santie Valencia further encouraged citizens to embrace God’s truth in their lives and families, hoping for blessings over the nation as they embark on this new political chapter.
