By Aaron Humes: Police have confirmed the death of 64-year-old Edward Massam, whose body was discovered in a vehicle on his property after he was reported missing by family members on Sunday.
Family grew increasingly worried when Massam, who suffered from epilepsy, failed to return home. He was last seen on Sunday at 8:00 AM. Concern escalated over the weekend as attempts to find and reach him went unanswered.
This afternoon, residents reported seeing flies circling a parked vehicle in his yard, prompting a call to police. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials searched and found Massam’s body inside the car, which was reportedly in a state of partial decomposition.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident; an autopsy is pending.
