By Aaron Humes: On Friday morning, San Pedro Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Alfaro’s Construction and Design Company Limited. The robbery occurred at approximately 9:11 a.m. while the company’s accountant was alone in his office preparing cash payments for workers.
Two men suddenly entered the office. One suspect, dressed in a blue long-sleeve hooded shirt and blue pants, brandished what appeared to be a nine-millimeter pistol and demanded valuables. The second individual, clad in a grey long-sleeve hooded jacket, searched through a desk drawer, seizing multiple cash bags along with a manila envelope containing undisclosed amounts of cash.
The suspects made off with an array of valuables, including a gold chain with a cross pendant valued at $1,000, a gold bracelet valued at $650, a Fossil watch worth $185, a brown wallet containing personal identification, and two iPhones — a purple iPhone 14 Pro Max valued at $1,500 and a navy blue iPhone 13 worth $1,200.
Officers quickly tracked the suspects to the Eiley’s Sub-Division. A search of the area resulted in the detention of one teenager from Belize City. He was found in possession of several stolen items, including a wristwatch, jewelry, and various amounts of cash. Further investigation led to the recovery of two iPhones and a blue bag containing empty envelopes. Two residents of San Pedro Town have also been identified as suspects.
Police stated that they are pursuing several leads and continue to investigate the incident. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as the investigation unfolds.
