By Horace Palacio: The Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA) has announced a vacancy for the position of Plant Health Officer at its Central Farm station in the Cayo District. This role involves pest surveillance, inspections, diagnostics, and pest control measures, ensuring Belize’s agricultural health standards are maintained.
Applicants must hold an associate degree in agricultural science or biology and have strong organizational, reporting, and computer skills. Fluency in English is required, with Spanish considered an asset. Candidates should also possess a valid Class “A” driver’s license and be willing to work in remote areas with minimal supervision.
The position offers a salary range of $17,810.76 to $34,014.72 per year under BAHA’s pay scale. Interested individuals must submit an application letter, résumé, proof of qualifications, reference letters, and a valid police record by Friday, March 14, 2025.
