The race featured 116 participants, with Chavarria, who rides for Team Phoenix International Cayman, securing an impressive second place in the Under-23 category, finishing alongside category leader Palmiste Philgy, who rides for CSCA Saci Proprete 2000. Chavarria’s team finished third in the stage.
In the points competition, Chavarria earned nine points, trailing behind Alberto Ramos’s 25. After six stages, he has moved up to second place with 51 points behind leader Ramos, who sorts I69.
In overall standings, after six stages, Oscar Sevilla of Spain. Riding for Team Medellín, leads with a combined time of 16 hours, 47 minutes, and 44 seconds, with Chavarria in 23rd place, eight minutes and six seconds behind. In the Under-23 category, Chavarria has moved up five rungs from seventh to second, just behind Santiago Cardona from Team HYF Footwear.
Team Phoenix International Cayman holds 12th position in the overall team rankings.
As the race approaches its final stage in the Dominican Republic on Sunday, all eyes are on Chavarria to see if he can climb further up the ranks in both the General Classification and the Under-23 category, as he strives to make his mark in the cycling world.
The seventh and final stage will cover 117 kilometres starting at 9:00 am (7:00 am Belize time).
