Santa Elena Primary girls, Belize Christian Academy boys win Cayo Primary Schools Volleyball Championship; all schools set for National Championships

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The National Primary Schools Volleyball Championship is set to showcase the best young talent from across Belize, with all 12 schools now determined following the recent Cayo Primary Schools Volleyball Championship.

The Belize Christian Academy boys and the Santa Elena Primary girls emerged as the Cayo District volleyball champions in a competitive tournament held on Thursday, February 20, at the University of Belize (UB) Gym in Belmopan. Both teams will now join their counterparts from across the country for the National Championship in Punta Gorda, Toledo, on Friday, March 7, 2025.

With all 12 schools now determined following the recent Cayo Primary Schools Volleyball Championship, the National Primary Schools Volleyball Championship is set to showcase the best young talent from across Belize. The national tournament will be held in Punta Gorda, Toledo, on Friday, March 7, 2025.

With the competition fast approaching, all eyes are on the National Championship organized by the Belize National Sports Council.

These are the 12 schools that qualified to the National Primary Schools Volleyball Championship:

• Cayo: Belize Christian Academy (boys) and Santa Elena Primary (girls)
• Corozal: Corozal Methodist School (boys) and Paraiso Government School (girls)
• Orange Walk: Carmelita Government School (girls) and Chan Pine Ridge Gov’t School (boys)
• Belize District: Belize Elementary School (girls) and Holy Redeemer RC (boys)
• Toledo: Toledo Christian Academy (girls and boys)
• Stann Creek: Holy Angels RC (girls) and Independence RC (boys)
