Fair weather dominates Belize with some coastal showers expected tonight

By Horace Palacio: Belize is expected to experience another warm and mostly fair day today with a moderate east to northeasterly airflow prevailing across the country. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, skies will be mostly sunny with some cloudy spells throughout the day. Showers will be generally isolated, but a few more are expected to develop later tonight, mainly over coastal and southern areas.

Marine conditions will be stable, with winds from the east-northeast at 5-15 knots, creating a sea state that is light chop to choppy. Waves are forecast to range between 2 and 5 feet, making for favorable boating conditions, though small craft operators should remain cautious.

Temperatures will remain warm and comfortable. Coastal areas are forecast to reach highs of 85°F (29°C) and cool to 77°F (25°C) at night. Inland areas will be slightly warmer, with highs of 88°F (31°C) and nighttime lows of 72°F (22°C). In the hills, conditions will be cooler, with temperatures ranging from 78°F (26°C) during the day to 66°F (19°C) overnight.

Looking ahead, Tuesday and Tuesday night are expected to bring cloudy spells with a few more showers developing around the country.

Today’s tidal schedule includes a low tide at 7:27 AM, a high tide at 1:25 PM, and another low tide at 8:27 PM. Tomorrow’s early high tide is forecast for 2:25 AM. Sunrise was at 6:24 AM, and sunset will occur at 5:49 PM. The moon is set to rise at 10:05 AM and set at 11:03 PM.

Forecaster Crystal Rosalez encourages residents to enjoy the mostly dry and stable conditions today while preparing for a slight increase in showers tonight, particularly in coastal and southern areas.
