By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Over 2,400 humanitarian aid trucks have entered Gaza under the ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, with 897 trucks arriving on Tuesday alone, Reuters report.
The United Nations reported that, despite minor looting incidents, there have been no significant law-and-order issues.
UN aid chief Muhannad Hadi mentioned that small groups, including children, had attempted to take food and water from trucks, but these incidents were not organized.
The ceasefire, which began on Sunday, requires at least 600 trucks of aid to be delivered daily, with half directed to Gaza’s northern regions, where famine is a growing concern.
While the aid operation is ongoing, logistical challenges remain due to the damaged road network and the movement of people within Gaza.
The UN has prioritized food assistance, healthcare, water, and shelter repairs in its efforts to support the population.
