By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Wildfires continue to burn in Los Angeles County, including in the Pacific Palisades, Sylmar, and near Pasadena.
Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency, warning that winds from the Santa Ana system could intensify through early Wednesday.
Over 30,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate, and more than 200,000 people are without power.
The Pacific Palisades Fire has consumed nearly 3,000 acres since it started on Tuesday, NBC reports.
Fueled by strong winds, it has forced thousands to flee, including reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, whose home was destroyed.
Firefighters are focusing on evacuations and rescue efforts, with limited resources to combat the fast-moving flames.
Despite the challenges, officials continue to warn that conditions may worsen as the winds pick up.
