Belize United win BDFA Regional Under 15 Youth Football Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In a thrilling match held at the Marion Jones Stadium in Belize City, Belize United edged Reality Youths 2-1clinching the BDFA Regional Under 15 Youth Football Championship Final on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

The game began with intense competition, and it was Reality Youths’ Ryan Davis who broke the deadlock, scoring the first goal after several failed attempts. Davis’s persistence paid off, earning him the Most Goals award for the tournament.

However, the tide turned when Reality Youths committed a handball in the box, leading to a penalty kick. Clive Medwood, a standout player who participated in the BTB Mundialito last year, stepped up to convert the penalty, leveling the score for Belize United.

Then Duan Latchman scored the second goal for Belize United, securing their victory and the championship title. Latchman was voted the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

His teammate Noe Flores was named the Best Goalkeeper.

This championship victory not only marks a significant achievement for Belize United who are now also aiming to win the Under 17 tournament which goes into semifinals on Wednesday, December 18.
