By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s National Cricket Team take on Bermuda on Thursday, December 12, 2024, after facing a tough defeat against the Bahamas on Tuesday in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Americas Qualifier.
The match, held at St Albans Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina, saw the Bahamas clinch a narrow 3-run victory, finishing with a score of 117/5 in 20 overs, while Belize managed 114/6 in their 20 overs.
Player of the Match Kervon Hinds played a crucial role for the Bahamas, scoring 53 runs off 42 balls and also taking 1 wicket for 17 runs in his 4 overs.
Belize’s record now stands at 1-3. Prior to the match against the Bahamas, Belize had secured their first and only win so far against Mexico. However, they then faced a narrow defeat against the host country, Argentina, losing by five runs in the last over with a final score of 101-96. In their subsequent match, Belize fell to the Cayman Islands, with a scoreline of 151-107 in 20 overs.
