By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Caye Caulker Village Council is appealing to the public for assistance in providing financial support for the Ocean Academy Male Basketball team that was involved in a road traffic accident while en route to represent Caye Caulker at regionals.
Following the traffic accident on Friday evening, the San Pedro Town Council, students, residents and the Cayo Community is requesting support for the teacher and students.
Teacher Zane Zuniga, originally from Cayo was also injured in the accident and the community is asking for financial assistance since the medical care that he needs is out of the country.
“Every little bit matters and counts. Please help out an injured cayo brother to be able to afford the care that he needs,” Lu Ortiz said.
“Please find it in your heart to donate for the medical expenses for Zane, who was one of the victims of a tragic traffic accident along with his students. One of our very own brother. Healing Prayers for Zane,” Mark O’Brien expressed.
Those wishing to assist can do so via the Belize Bank account number attached.
