By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Following today’s ruling by the High Court in favor of Shyne Barrow, Tracy Panton issued a statement saying that the decision grants an interim injunction for the occupation of the UDP headquarters and makes no determination on the leadership of the party.
“I know there is a measure of disappointment we all feel that the Court has granted an interim injunction for temporary occupation of the UDP HQ to the former PL. Let me reiterate that this is only a TEMPORARY situation. The substantive matter, which is the legality of the 20th of October Convention, is yet to be heard in short order,” Panton said.
“A temporary injunction makes for the use of the building makes NO determination on the Leadership of the Party. While I am aware that there are agents in the party who wish to mislead what happened this morning, please be aware that the decisions taken at the 20th October 2024 Convention stand. There is NO court or court decision that has thwarted the Will of the People,” she added.
Panton encouraged supporters to push forward and says that “the work of rebuilding and uniting the Party will continue expeditiously.”
