By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams confirmed today that a woman police officer and her common-law husband are detained in San Ignacio.
Compol Williams says that based on information gathered, the WPC and her common-law husband are the mastermind behind several robberies in the area.
In addition, Compol Williams says that other persons who are also involved are detained.
“A search of the police officer’s home led to the discovery of a number of police uniforms for male and she is a woman, that includes the number 1 and the BDU. Interestingly, many of these robberies that were committed, persons committing them were wearing police uniform or BDU,” Williams said.
Compol says that police also found the rental vehicle used in a recent robbery in Belmopan.
They are expected to be charged on Monday.
