By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida, prayers are being sent for the safety of families and friends in Tampa, Orlando, and throughout the state.
Florida’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell emphasized the storm’s potential for catastrophic impact, urging residents to heed local officials’ warnings.
“This is going to be a difficult day,” she said.
More than 1,000 FEMA personnel remain in Florida to aid in the recovery efforts.
Belizean Queen Freight Services has announced that their October 7 shipment will be affected by the hurricane and will not be expedited.
Recipients are advised to plan for delivery after the usual two-week docking period.
Belizeans are lifting up prayers for their families, friends and all those in the path of Hurricane Milton.
