By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: UNICEF Belize is conducting a 4-day training session on the Helping Adolescents Thrive (#HAT) initiative and the Measurement of Mental Health among Adolescent Population Level (#MMAP) tools.
The training is being led by UNICEF’s LAC Regional Health Specialist Antria Spyridou and colleagues Juliet Simmons and Aimee Jex.
The training engages key stakeholders to enhance policies and programs focused on adolescent mental health in Belize.
The training has three main objectives:
Establish foundational knowledge and a shared vision for promoting adolescent mental well-being.
Build capacity in using HAT delivery tools and strategies for psychosocial intervention and caregiver support.
Develop an action plan for implementing HAT and MMAP in Belize.
