By Horace Palacio: A man was arrested on Saturday morning in Orange Walk Town for disorderly conduct during a traffic stop, police said.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. on September 21, 2024, officers stopped a Ford Escort on Queen Victoria Street. The officers instructed the driver and passenger to exit the vehicle. The passenger, later identified as William Jones, 27, reportedly became agitated and climbed on top of the vehicle, refusing to comply with police orders.
According to police, Jones used profanity and resisted efforts to bring him down from the vehicle. Officers said justifiable force was used to detain him.
Jones was subsequently arrested and charged with “Boisterous Behavior” after being cautioned and informed of his rights. He was taken into custody and escorted to the police station.
