By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the spirit of unity filled the air in Santa Elena Town as primary school students gathered for the annual school uniform parade. The day kicked off with a lively rally at the Santa Elena Sports Complex, setting the tone for the festivities.
The parade featured schools from both San Ignacio and Santa Elena, showcasing beautifully decorated floats. Students proudly waved their Belizean flags as they paraded through the streets, filling the community with pride.
A standout moment was when Santa Elena Primary School showcased students adorned with the names and photos of national heroes, including the Father of the Nation, George Price, and current ministers like Kevin Bernard and Oscar Mira.
The celebration culminated with students enjoying treats at their respective schools, wrapping up a joyful day of camaraderie and national pride. Happy Independence Day, Belize!
