By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The fourth weekend of the Premier League of Belize 2024-2025 Opening Season wraps up with Verdes taking on archrivals Belmopan Bandits at 4:00 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Second-place Verdes, sporting six points and an impressive goal difference of +9, have added three foreigners and six Belizean players to their squad this season. They will look to maintain their strong form and challenge for the top spot.
The Bandits, once the winningest champions, have been struggling over the past few seasons. Yet to secure a point and with a goal difference of -9, they will be hoping for a breakthrough performance to kickstart their season.
The other two weekend matches, current undefeated leaders Progresso tackle champions Port Layola at 7:30 pm at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk on Saturday. Then on Sunday, the San Pedro Pirates face off against Wagiya SC at 6:00 pm at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro.
