By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Corozal Bay Area Representative Elvia Vega has called out the PUP for “disrespecting” her.
Vega says that she is being evicted from her constituency office.
“From major undermining from the very beginning of my term to being the only sitting area rep to be challenged to an unjust convention to now being told that I must leave the office. Total disrespect…. What’s next? I was elected by the people and I will serve my term to the very end,” Vega said on Facebook.
Each constituency office for all 31 Area Representatives are paid for by the Government of Belize and Vega is still the Corozal Bay standard bearer.
However, following the recent convention, Vega said that she believes she is being pushed out to make way for her successor Thea Garcia Ramirez.
Vega says she was given until Friday to leave but she intends to complete her term in office.
