By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize-based Erick Javier Arriola of Honduras, fighting out of Orange Walk, won over Mexican Rolando Rodríguez from Córdoba, Veracruz, in the Super Bantamweight category (130 pounds), in the undercard to the Super Lightweight Amir ‘KingMir’ Rudon fight against Guatemalan pugilist Juan ‘El Toro’ Méndez at Swift Hall in Belize City on Saturday night.
Arriola won by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the bout 60-54, according to Belie Boxing Development Council’s Commissioner Javier Romero.
Arriola, who is managed by Belizean Miguel Urbina from Orange Walk, now has an undefeated 6-0 record. This is his first fight that goes the distance. His previous five were all won by knockout.
Rodríguez dropped to one win, four losses, and one draw,
Rudon also won over Méndez by unanimous decision.
The boxing card was organized by Tres Reyes Promotions from San Ignacio and sanctioned by the Belize Boxing Development Council.
The judges were Javier Romero and Tomas Serrut from San Ignacio, and Luis Oliva from Santa Elena, Cayo.
