COMPOL’s brother, Arthur Williams, back home after bail violation charge

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Arthur Roy Williams, known as “Uncle,” is back home after being detained by police on Monday for violating bail conditions. The Commissioner of Police (COMPOL), his brother, instructed the Belize Police Department to charge Williams. on Wednesday, he appeared in Belize City Magistrate’s Court, facing a single charge of contempt of judicial order.

Williams allegedly posted about the COMPOL and the Belize Police Department between April and June 2024, despite being ordered not to. He pleaded not guilty in Court #2 and was released on a $1,000 bail. He is due back in court on August 20, 2024.

Williams was initially detained after leaving Court #5 and escorted to the Queen Street Police Station for violating his bail conditions. Previously, on February 7, 2024, he was arraigned on three charges under the Cyber Crime Act for using a computer system to disseminate false statements and intimidate. He pleaded not guilty and was granted a $10,000 bail.
