Honduran national convicted for illegal entry in Belize

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Kevin Fernandez Esquivel Hernandez, a 26-year-old Honduran national, was convicted on Monday in Belize City Magistrate Court for illegal entry. Hernandez, who entered Belize via the Mopan River in April, pleaded guilty to being an illegal immigrant.

Hernandez explained that he stayed in Belize after his mother left. He was fined $1,000 plus $5 court costs, payable immediately. The court also ordered his expulsion to Honduras after paying the fine or serving his time.
