By Breaking Belize News Staff: Jayden Amari Ryan Thomas, 19, received his first convictions today for drug offenses after pleading guilty to possession of 40.9 grams of cannabis and possession with intent to supply 907.2 grams of marijuana. Police discovered the drugs during a search of his home on Mango Street.

Thomas, unrepresented in court, admitted ownership of the marijuana, leading to the withdrawal of charges against three other teenagers present during the search. He was fined $205 for the smaller amount and $1,005 for the larger quantity, which was packaged in 73 individual bags.

The Senior Magistrate noted the seriousness and quantity of the drugs but considered Thomas’s young age and potential for rehabilitation. He has until September 30, 2024, to pay the fines or face jail time.
