Police confirm Jose Cecilio Mejia was murdered; two men held

By Aaron Humes: Murder victim Jose Cecilio Mejia of Bullet Tree Road, Cayo District, sustained several injuries leading to his death, police say.

Mejia’s body was found inside Victor Galvez Stadium early Tuesday morning with one cut wound to the left side of the neck, multiple stab wounds to his chest, and cut wounds to the mouth.

Initial investigation reveals that a female was doing her routine exercise in and around the park when she saw the body and called police.

Police have detained two men as their investigations continue; a post-mortem examination has been scheduled.
