Police believe Tuesday night’s double murder linked to previous fight

By Aaron Humes: According to police, the murders of Marvin Pook and Anthony Young on Tuesday night reportedly resulted from a previous fight in the area.

Officer Commanding Eastern Division, ACP Hilberto Romero, indicated in a briefing today that the fight took place earlier and the shooter returned on a motorcycle to target the duo. Pook, who lives on Muhammed Ali Street, and Young were alone when the shooter opened fire on them before escaping.

Both men were almost immediately rushed to hospital but died in treatment.

A specific motive for the initial fight and subsequent shooting has not been established. Police have several persons in custody pending further investigation.
