By Breaking Belize News Staff: A banner is circulating on social media purportedly bearing a message from the Mexican cartel.
The banner says “For all the people and rats that run with them like the state and Municipal ministers and the people on the banks of the Hondo River and the Free Zone of Belize, they belong to us, there is no deception.”
There are heightened tensions in Quintana Roo following the execution of the Former Director of the Cancun Prison in Chetumal.
Burgos was working as advisor to the state Secretariat of Citizen Security.
He was followed, attacked and shot multiple times in Chetumal on Monday morning.
Belizean law enforcement authorities are investigating the source of the banner.
