By Aaron Humes: Alleged scammers were once again at work online.
A Belize City woman reported that on April 23, she made arrangements through Facebook Buy and Sell to purchase a cream sofa set valued at $1,500 from someone claiming to live Placencia, who directed that the money be paid through an Atlantic Bank account.
She was sent the receipt and told the furniture would be delivered on Friday – but it wasn’t and she was subsequently blocked from the page.
A police investigation is underway.
