By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, the new Belmopan City Council led by Mayor Pablo Cawich was sworn in at the Mauvelene “Mae” Gordon Park in Belmopan.
Cawich has since extended gratitude to God, the PUP family, Minister Oscar Mira and all residents of Belmopan for their support.
“Your sacrifices paved the way for this victory, a testament to hard work, discipline, and dedication. Together, we will move Belmopan FORWARD,” Cawich said on social media.
Mayor Cawich announced that the Government of Belize is extending its commitment to free education to 12 more schools across the country, including Belmopan Comprehensive School.
“With approximately 1,000 students attending, this is fantastic news for our community and families.
In addition to ensuring free education, the government will also provide assistance with uniforms, transportation, meals, and digital devices for students. This comprehensive support will have a direct impact on the economy of our families,” Mayor Cawich added.
