Belize Ambassador to Taiwan, Dr. Candice Pitts addresses Taiwan-Central and South American and Caribbean Countries Parliamentary Friendship Association

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On February 26, 2024, Belize Ambassador to Taiwan Dr. Candice Pitts joined Wan-lai Chou, Secretary General of Legislative Yuan, H. E. Remus Chen, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, other Taiwanese government officials, and other Ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Corps, in the first meeting for the resumption of the Taiwan-Central and South American and Caribbean Countries Parliamentary Friendship Association, which was hosted at the Legislative Yuan.

In her remarks, Ambassador Dr. Candice Pitts indicated that the association is important and serves as another abutment in the bridge between member countries and Taiwan.

“Integrally, this association helps to place and to fasten the parliaments of our countries in dialogue with each other.

In addition to the synergies, the resumption of this association and our countries’ participation in it, ultimately serves as another testament of the potency of our collective diplomatic relationships with Taiwan,” the Belize Embassy in Taiwan noted.

Ambassador Pitts commended the Government of Taiwan on the reactivation and resumption of this initiative, and looks forward with optimism to what member countries will collectively accomplish through the framework of this parliamentary association.
