Muffles College look to clinch National Secondary Schools Sports Association Boys Football Championship on Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Muffles College take on Delille Academy on Saturday morning in the hunt to clinch the National Secondary Schools Sports Association Boys Football Championship at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga.

Muffles have raked 13 goals and allowed only one in the first two games led by San Pedro High School reinforcement Keydenshaay Bowen with seven goals. Bowen scored four goals in the 6-1 win over Belmopan Baptist High School on Thursday and a hat trick in the 7-0 victory over Gwen Lizarraga High School on Friday. The regional champions are each allowed three reinforcements from other high schools within their regions.

With their six points and their ample goal difference (13-1), Muffles can even afford to lose to Delille and still clinch the National Title.

Delille, for their part, started out losing 3-2 to Gwen Liz on Thursday but bounced back with a 3-1 win over Belmopan Baptist High School on Friday. Delille, who are currently second, would need to beat Muffles by 12 goals to win the NSSSA Championship.

The second game on Saturday features Belmopan Baptist against Gwen Liz at 3:00 pm.

Gwen Liz are aiming for second place while Belmopan Baptist are looking for a win to avoid finishing in last place.
