Ministry of Health and Wellness warns of falsified medical products

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MoHW) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) are urging anyone who suspects of falsified or unregulated medical products to contact them.

The MoHW advises that substandard and falsified medical products exist in all major therapeutic categories including vaccines, medicines and in vitro diagnostic products.

If you detect of suspect of the existence of falsified or unregulated medical products, you are urged to contact the Ministry.

The World Health Organization (WHO) notes that it received reports of substandard or falsified medical medicines, vaccines and in vitro diagnostics from all regions of the world.

WHO Member States have agreed on a comprehensive global strategy focused on prevention, detection and response to move towards achieving increased access to quality, safe, effective and quality medical products.
