By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH) is closing the Hawkesworth Bridge in San Ignacio-Santa Elena on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.
“This temporary closure is necessary to facilitate engineers from the MIDH in conducting a. structural assessment of the bridge, deck and pedestrian walkways,” the MIDH said in a press release on Monday.
The MIDH advises motorists to use the Macal Bridge during the time the Hawkesworth will be closed
The MIDH also advises citizens to be vigilant and exercise caution while driving in the Hawkesworth Bridge area during that time and to follow the traffic warnings and instructions given by the Transport and Police Departments.
