By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Under 19 Belize Men’s National Team will be competing in the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) FIFA Forward U19 Men’s Tournament in Tegucigalpa, Honduras from January 19-25,
The UNCAF FIFA Forward U19 Men’s Tournament is a preparatory tournament for the Concacaf Under 20 Championship Qualifiers. The U20 BMNT is playing the qualifiers in Group A in Managua, Nicaragua from February 23 to March 3, 2024 against Cuba, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, and Nicaragua.
All seven Central American countries plus invited guests Cuba, are participating in the UNCAF FIFA Forward U19 Men’s Tournament.
Belize is in Group B along with Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Cuba.
Group A comprises Honduras, Panamá, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.
The UNCAF tournament will be held at the Olimpia High Performance Center (Centro de Alto Rendimiento – CAR CDO) in Tegucigalpa. Fields 1 and 2 (Canchas #1 and #2) are natural grass while Field 3 (Cancha #3) is artificial turf.
Belize is playing Costa Rica on January 19 at 3:00 pm. The second game will be against Guatemala on January 21 at 11:00 am. The final group game will be against Cuba on January 23 at 11:00.
The winners of both groups qualify for the Final. The other teams play against the same ranked teams from the other group in ranking games on January 25.
