By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MoHW) is conducting contact tracing with families and friends of 2 children in Belmopan who were diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.
Nine-year-old Jayce Brown who attends United Evergreen primary is on life support at the KHMH. The Belmopan community have organized a prayer vigil for Jayce tomorrow at Hilltop Basketball court. Prayer warriors are praying for a miracle in Jayce’s life.
Another student age 5 from St. Ann’s Anglican is also hospitalized and the lab has confirmed their preliminary findings of streptococcal bacteria. The child is being treated.
The Ministry says it is working with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MoECST) and respective schools to ensure that all infectious control guidelines and practices are being taken.
