By Hugh O’Brien: Earlier this week, Breaking Belize News (BBN) reported that the lifeless body of an elderly man was found in Santa Martha village in the Orange Walk district.
Police later identified the victim as 70-year-old Francisco Garcia. Garcia’s body was found in the bushes not too far from his farm in Santa Martha and had multiple chop wounds. A machete that is believed to be the murder weapon was found nearby.
In an interview with 7 News Belize, Garcia’s wife said that the killer or killers stole multiple items from her husband’s farm house.
Police have not yet arrested and charged anyone for this gruesome murder.
