By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police in Corozal have arrested and charged a school principal following allegations of sexual assault against a 13-year-old student.
Reports indicate that the child, along with her mother, went to the Gender-Based Violence Response and Investigation Unit claiming that the principal initiated communication with her via WhatsApp in April of this year. She alleges that the contact led to three separate incidents of sexual assault on the school compound, including one in a storage room, between May and June.
Police confirmed that 53-year-old Ever Lucas, principal of Christiline Gill Seventh Day Adventist Primary School, was formally charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of child luring.
